View Tribute Book In Loving Memory of Jesús Arriaga CervantesBeloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend Jesús Arriaga Cervantes passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Harlingen, Texas, and raised in Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Jesús lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and community. He began his career as a proud truck driver in Mexico, and after returning to Texas, he transitioned into construction, where he learned the trade and rose to become a well- known foreman, respected for his leadership and dedication. His work ethic and guidance helped many others find their footing, especially those starting new lives in the United States.Jesús had a deep love for music, fishing, and family cookouts, where his presence brought joy and unity. He was a strong, generous man — a true leader who gave selflessly and helped countless friends and family members build better lives. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Victoria Balderas, and his loving children: Imelda Corral, Maria Victoria Arriaga, Jesús Arriaga Jr., and Angelica Meza. He also leaves behind four brothers and four sisters, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way, along with many extended family members and friends who will carry his legacy forward. Jesús was preceded in death by his parents, José Arriaga Gonzales and Margarita Cervantes Garcia, his sisters Esther and Maria, and his brothers Juan and Nicolás. Friends are invited to visitation with the family on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 6:30 pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:30 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 201 S Third Street, La Porte, Texas 77571. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 2:00 pm at St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception, 816 Park Drive, La Porte, Texas 77571. The Rite of Committal to follow, via escorted cortege, at Bethany Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Immediately after the interment, all are invited to a reception at the residence of Angelica and Nicasio Meza, 709 S 4th Street, La Porte, Texas 77571. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life well lived. Though he is no longer with us, the impact of Jesús’s life will continue to be felt in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Nació en Harlingen, Texas, y fue criado en Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas, México, donde comenzó su trayectoria como orgulloso conductor de camiones. Al regresar a Texas, se dedicó a la construcción, aprendiendo el oficio y convirtiéndose en un capataz reconocido, respetado por su liderazgo y compromiso.Jesús fue un hombre fuerte, generoso y de gran integridad. Un líder nato que ayudó a muchos amigos y familiares a comenzar una nueva vida, especialmente aquellos que emigraron a Estados Unidos en busca de mejores oportunidades. Amaba profundamente la música, la pesca y las reuniones familiares, donde su presencia siempre traía alegría y unión. Su ejemplo de vida y su espíritu generoso dejaron una huella imborrable en todos los que lo conocieron. Le sobreviven su amada esposa de 55 años, Victoria Balderas, y sus hijos: Imelda Corral, María Victoria Arriaga, Jesús Arriaga Jr. y Angélica Meza. También deja a cuatro hermanos y cuatro hermanas, 13 nietos, 6 bisnietos y uno más en camino, además de numerosos familiares y amigos que continuarán su legado. Jesús fue precedido en muerte por sus padres, José Arriaga Gonzales y Margarita Cervantes García, sus hermanas Esther y María, y sus hermanos Juan y Nicolás. Se invita a familiares y amigos a reunirse para rendir homenaje y celebrar una vida plena y ejemplar. Aunque ya no está físicamente con nosotros, el impacto de la vida de Jesús seguirá vivo en los corazones de todos los que lo amaron.
