Jo Ann Gwaltney
March 19, 1931 - February 10, 2016
Jo Ann Gwaltney, 84, of La Porte passed away February 10, 2016. Born to Joe Wallace Langley and Virginia Love on March 19, 1931 in Houston, Texas. She was a member of La Porte Community Church, a member of Beta Sigma Phi and longtime member of the Houston Yacht Club. Jo loved living on the water of beautiful Galveston Bay. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Gwaltney. Survivors include daughters Virginia Jo “Ginni” Gwaltney and Cindy Booty and husband Bo; grandchildren Amy Elizabeth Gibson, Melissa Bradshaw, B.J. Baker, Jody Mobley, and Ralph Mathews; great grandchildren Jordyn Bradshaw, Payton Baker and C.J. Rhodes, Jr; and friend Ralph Mathews. Special thanks to All Dance Friends at American Legion. Visitation is Thursday February 11, 2016 from 6-8pm at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services are Friday February 12, 2016 at 10am at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Grandview Memorial Park. A special thanks to her caregivers over the last year. In lieu of usual remembrances donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
