Even though we lived far apart I felt so close to her and her family. She and Merlin made me and my family so welcomed when we visited. I will never forget her and the fun times we shared. God is gaining a great person.
Tears are in my eyes with the sadness I feel for the loss of my cousin, Joann. How blessed we are to know such a loving and talented person. The memories of your gracious hopsitality you showed when we visited your Sugarland home are now priceless treasures. You will be missed my dear cousin.
My condolences to the Auer and Castille families for their great loss. When my family moved to Houston the summer after I finished first grade, I had no idea that the lady across the street would become my second mother and her daughter Deborah one of my dearest friends for the past fifty years. Joanne was an amazing person and I will always think of her fondly and with love.
Joann and Merlin great volunteers at St Vincent De Paul at St Theresa’s in Sugar Land. We appreciated them very much. They were truly missed They are both in our thoughts and prayers. May her soul rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to the Castille family (most especially Ralph!). Your beautiful Mom made an impression on so many people, myself included. I can still visualize her perfectly at the jewelry counter at NM – such style and grace. I enjoyed catching up with her there when I visited Houston. We are the lucky ones to have been reared by that generation of loving, hard working and faithful people. May your happy memories sustain you! Love, Connie
