Cheryl, Alice and I have thought about you and the girls a lot today since Larry called and told us of Joe’s passing. But we have had some good thoughts about Joe today. The great times as firemen and hunting at Buffalo. His run in with the rubber snake and when he shot that doe and at 40 he was scared that his daddy was going to give him a spanking. Riding with him on fireworks patrol, BSing for hours with him and Buddy when they were working security. Some good times at Eddie’s. Just remembered a good friend. Hard to believe it has been 25 years since we left Pearland and a lot of good friends
Cheryl, my sincere condolences go out to you and the family. Please know that as the Chief while Joe was a volunteer firefighter, he was one of the most dedicated and dependable men under my watch, not only always being there when the fire siren went off, but also there to twist a wrench to bring failed and broken fire apparatus back on line for the next run. Joe also had what it took, particularly in his humor, to be a fun, fine and enjoyable guy to always be around!
