Joe Lynn Burgess' Obituary
Joe Lynn Burgess, 80, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Miles “Bill” and Lucille Burgess. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lois Burgess of Katy, TX; daughters, Dixie Knight and husband, Terry of Krum, TX, Dena Espey and husband, Gary of Naperville, IL, Dana Townley and husband, Barry of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren Knight of Denton, TX, Sydni Espey and fiancée Kyle Cassin of Naperville, IL, Hailey Cameron and husband, Josh of Houston, TX, Drew Knight of Austin, TX, Megan Escobar and husband, Fredy of San Clemente, CA; nephew, Randy Burgess of Tyler, TX; and a host of other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made in Joe’s memory to the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Katy, Texas.
A visitation and service for Joe will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Bear Creek Baptist Church, 5901 N. Fry Road, Katy, Texas 77449. The visitation will begin and 9:30 am and the service will follow at 10:30 am with Pastor David Welch officiating. A graveside service will follow at Woodside Cemetery in Grand Saline, Texas at 4:30 pm with grandson-in law, Josh Cameron officiating.
