Joe Ernest Cerda's Obituary
Joe Cerda 63 passed away Sunday October 10. He is preceded in death by his loving mother Librada Reyna Cerda. Left to cherish his memory are, his father; Ernest Cerda, wife; Gina Castillo Cerda, sons; Joe Cerda Jr. and wife Heather, Christopher Cerda and partner Tanner and Esteban Cerda, sisters; Leslie Vasquez and husband Ernest, Carrie Rojas, Rosie Rodriquez and husband Roy, and Debbie Cerda, grandchildren; Madelyn, Joe III, Natalia, Kailee, and Jacob, great grandson; Leo, and a host of other family and friends.
Joe was an adoring and devoted husband to his wife Gina. His family was his number one priority. He loved his three sons with all his heart, they were his pride and joy. He enjoyed helping Joe Jr. troubleshoot any problems he was facing during his personal and professional trials. With Chris, he loved to discuss new workout options and health and fitness. With Esteban it was working on cars. Joe had the same love for all his grandchildren and great grandson. Joe’s sisters were dear to him, and he always wanted to be there to protect them. He also loved his extended family and in laws, nieces, and nephews. He had formed a special bond with his great nephew, Grayson, who referred to him as Tio/Grandpa and Grayson told everyone how much Joe loved him. He had a nickname for all his nieces and nephews.
Joe was a retired Network Analyst from the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department after 30 plus years. He was one of the few people you would meet that loved what he did for a living. Joe loved spending time working out at the LaPorte Rec Center. He also had a love for cars and loved working on his 2001 Audi TT sports car and taking night rides with Gina. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Services for Joe will be, Visitation: Monday October 18 6-8 pm Rosary: 6:00 pm at the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel 201 S. 3rd St LaPorte. Service: Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday October 19th St. St. Mary’s Catholic Church 816 Park St. LaPorte
