John Gregory Coppage's Obituary
John Gregory Coppage, 51, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017. He is survived by his parents, Berry and Mary Coppage; his loving wife of 29 years, Janet Coppage; son, David Coppage and wife, Amanda; stepson, Julian Camacho; stepdaughters, Jessica Verducci and husband, Ryan; Jacquelyn Martinez and husband, Daniel; sisters, Malinna Freeman, Carla Gerlach and husband, Doug; nephews, Jacob and Dustin Freeman; and a host of other family and friends.
John is, was, and will always be an amazing man, wonderful husband, loving father, and a good friend to many. He was a very devoted man, always putting Janet; his best friend and wife first, followed by his son and family. No matter the circumstances, John always managed to make Janet laugh. He had a silly side to him that only she knew. She was everything to him, his entire world. He lived for her and always told her together forever.
John was a smart man who loved a challenge. He always found a way to conquer any obstacle that came his way, and cancer was no different. John was very dedicated to his career and not only did he make a big impact on the company but he had a positive influence on many of his co-workers.
John wasn't a hunter or a fisherman but he was passionate about many things. He was a great handy man who always said "I have more time than I have money". He enjoyed working in the yard and was very meticulous about how it was done. Another thing he took pride in was grilling and smoking meats, so much so that it became an art for him. He also enjoyed listening to music, his favorites being AC/DC, Journey and many other classic rock bands. John was an avid football fan. Although the Houston Texans were his favorite team, he never missed the chance to watch any game, any day, at any time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service for John will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Chaplain Dan Danford officiating.
