John Edward Hendrickson's Obituary
John Edward Hendrickson, 88, a longtime resident of Manvel, Texas passed away Friday, June 11, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Catherine Hendrickson; loving wife of 45 years, Rose
Marie Hendrickson; sons Eugene Rembowski, Mark Hendrickson, Mike Hendrickson; and brother
Richard Hendrickson. Left to cherish John’s memory are his son Tony Rembowski and wife, Kay;
daughters Sharon Rembowski, Linda Rembowski, Karen Hornbeck; 4 grandchildren; 4 great
grandchildren, and a host of other dear family and friends.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. While in the military, he was known to
tune radar for combat. John had a profitable TV repair business for many years. He excelled at electronic
engineering and had a successful career with Lockheed Martin and NASA. John was the only person to
ever have the title of Engineer at Lockheed without a college education. He traveled all over the world
for NASA with their Earth Resources Program. John had a brilliant mind and he loved to build things. He
built a dune buggy, go carts, boats, remote control helicopters, and model planes. John was most proud
of the 1972 Volkswagen that he converted into an electric car. John will be greatly missed by all who
knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held for John on Monday, June 21st, at 11:00 am, at Houston National
Cemetery, in Houston, Texas.
