John Roger Holland's Obituary
John Holland, 65, went to be with the Lord, Monday January 31st. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Anne Reddy Holland. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Irene Wells Holland; son, Jonathan Holland and wife Jessica; daughter, Renee Edgil and partner Princess Lee; sisters, Patricia Ferry and Joy Fenley; grandchildren, Noah, Jayden and Jagger; nephews, Todd Ferry and wife Sondra, Chad Fenley and wife Jamie and their children; niece, Trisha and husband Tom Jost; his beloved dog Jackson, and a host of other dear family and friends.
John was raised in Kathleen Georgia. After high school John attended the Franciscan University of Steubenville, in Steubenville, Ohio. While attending college he met the love of his life Irene Wells. John and Irene Married July 27, 1979 and were happily married for forty-two years.
John never met a stranger, and every day was a good day. His favorite saying was “Best Day Ever”. John was strong in his faith and had a good relationship with Jesus Christ. His family and friends also meant the world to him. He loved Whataburger, and you could often find him there. He enjoyed shopping, especially at Wal-Mart. John had a green thumb and loved to grow plants of all kinds.
In lieu of flowers, John's family asks that donations be made in his name to the Houston Zoo.
Services for John will be Visitation: Thursday February 10 from 6-8 pm with the Rosary beginning 6:00 pm. Memorial Mass: Friday February 11th at 10:00 am at the St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 2921 Center St. Deer Park, Texas.
