John Pat O'Rourke's Obituary
John Pat O’Rourke Sr., 82, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016. He is preceded in death by parents, Patrick and Elnora O’Rourke. John is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Gwen O’Rourke; sons, Mick O’Rourke, Chris O’Rourke, Johnny O’Rourke and wife, Blanche, John Dabbs; daughter, Tina Smith and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Blair, Brett, Brooke, Cameron, Casie, Taylor, Austin, and Audrey; great grandchild, Nolan; and a host of other family and friends.
John was born November 18, 1933 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Coast Guard. John would later return to home and graduate from the University of Houston with a degree in Business Administration. He worked as an accountant for John W. Mecom for many years. John was strong in his faith and an inspiration to his entire family. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Methodist Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s honor to the local Leukemia Society, the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or your favorite charity.
A Memorial Service for John will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.
