Johnnie Mae Garner's Obituary
Johnnie Mae Garner, 79, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Elmira Richardson; and her loving husband of 50 years, Larry Garner. Johnnie is survived by her son, Bryan Garner and wife, Melissa; Cynthia Garner Moran and husband, Rex; sisters, Betty Williams, Yvonne Byars; grandchildren, James Kimmey, his wife Jessica, Amanda Kimmey, her fiancé Neil Hoffard, Quentin Garner, girlfriend Katie Haynie; eight great grandchildren; beloved nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends, including the many friends made over the years through their family business, Garner's Cleaners.
Johnnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that cherished every opportunity to spend time with family. She remained close to her sisters, they enjoyed a life-long bond that created a very close-knit family for generations. Johnnie enjoyed playing all types of card games with her family, traveling and listening to music. She was strong in her faith and loved her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Johnnie overcame many physical and health issues, yet remained positive and inspired all who knew and loved her.
Services for Johnnie will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The funeral services will follow beginning at 11:00 am with Bobby Garner officiating, and James Kimmey, Neil Hoffard, Rusty Harkleroad, Joe Byars, Johnny Byars and Daryl Sasser serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
