Almanza passed away peacefully at home in the comforting presence of her family on Thursday, November 21st, 2024, at the age of 88. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Almanza Sr; parents, Martin Martinez and Sabina (Castillo) Martinez; daughter, Ruth Sanchez; brothers, Domingo Martinez, Rufus Martinez, and Faustino Martinez; grandson, Randy Gonzales; and great grandsons, Miguel Robles and Michael Almanza Jr. Left to cherish Josephine’s memory are her sons, Juan Almanza Jr, Joe Almanza, Jesse Almanza, and Gilbert Almanza; daughter, Beatrice Gonzales and husband Alonzo; grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Alex, Juan, Angela, David, Alonzo, Paul, Valerie, Veronica, Joel, and Victor; forty seven great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of many other family and friends.Josephine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was extremely caring and loving but could also be tough as nails when it came time to straighten someone out. Josephine was an all-around homemaker who could always make a lot out of little. She had a servant’s heart, helping anyone she could. Josephine sacrificed much for her family and was always content with the simple life. She enjoyed many happy years with the love of her life, Juan, whom she loved very much. Whenever she could, Josephine enjoyed dancing, painting, gardening, and tending to her chickens. She had a wonderful sense of humor as well and loved to make others laugh and smile. Josephine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.A visitation for Josephine will be held at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland on Monday, December 2nd, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Her funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, at 10:00 am.
