Josephine Despabeladero "Josie" Barnes' Obituary
Josephine “Josie” Despabeladero Barnes, 55 passed away Friday, March 24, 2017. She was born in Manila, Philippines to Gabino and Victoria Norio. Josie is preceded in death by her father, Gabino Norio, Sr.; son, Benjamin Barnes; and brother, Rupertano Norio. Josie is survived by her mother, Victoria Despabeladero Norio; sons, A. J. Barnes, Rush Barnes, and Daniel Smethurst; daughters, Krystal Barnes, Jackie Barnes, and Amy Smethurst; brothers, Gabino Norio Jr. and Benedicto Norio; sisters, Ma. Carmela Norio Roluna and Florsielie Norio Cairo; grandchild, Rose Elizabeth Barnes-Lee “Peanut”; and a host of many other family and dear friends.
Josie was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, grandmother, friend, and healing nurse. Her family was of a great importance to her and she always focused on making everyone happy. Josie had an amazing smile that could warm any heart. Her diligence and strong work ethic helped Josie develop a passion for caring for others. She was truly an amazing woman that never complained and embraced all of life’s challenges. Josie had an endearing heart and was passionate in caring for her children and family. Her legacy of compassion, courage, intelligence, perseverance, and the importance of family will continue to live on in her children. Josie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Josie will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will take place Friday, March 31, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3311 Southfork Drive, Pearland, Texas 77584. The family will receive guests at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 11:00 am.
