Josie Bell Greer's Obituary
Josie Bell Greer, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Dee and Ruby Hughes; her loving husband of 59 years, Billy Joe Greer; and sister, Lorene Riley. Josie is survived by her sons, Glenn Greer and wife, Tricia, Joe Alan Greer and wife, Dea; brother, Jesse Dee Hughes and wife, Inece; grandchildren, Asa-Marie Kincaide, Haley Dawn Greer, Amy Elizabeth Greer, Angela Jo Greer, Joshua Glenn Greer and wife, Amanda, Dustan Alan Greer, Nathan Daniel Greer, Jeremy Alan Greer; great grandchildren, Hannah Kincaide, Abby Kincaide, Rylynn Greer, Emerson Greer; and a host of other family and friends.
Josie enjoyed sports growing up and played basketball in high school. She was strong in her faith and active in her church. Josie worked for many years in Alvin at Towne Rexall Drug Store. Her favorite pastimes were collecting red birds and enjoying her beloved Blue Bell ice cream. Josie was truly the family historian and loved taking pictures and keeping records of all the family. She cherished spending time with her family at gatherings and holidays, and always made sure to have plenty of toys in the toy room for the grandchildren. She was affectionately known as “Grandma Josie” to all of her grandchildren and she had an amazing bond with each of them. Josie will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A visitation and funeral service for Josie will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland Texas 77581. The visitation will begin at 12:00 noon and the service will follow at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
