View Tribute Book Juan “John” Longoria Jr, 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Saturday, December 30th, 2023. He was born September 6th, 1930, in Harlingen, Texas to Juan Longoria Sr, and Adelia Gomez Longoria. He was in the Army (Airborne Division) from January 1951 through January 1953 and received an honorable release from active duty. After his release from the Army, he married his sweetheart, Lydia, and moved to Houston, Texas where they started a family. He made his home in Pearland, Texas for 63 years. After retiring from the Maritime Association in 1989, Juan enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, camping in his RV in New Braunfels, and floating down the Comal River. Juan and Lydia also enjoyed staying at their condo in Port Aransas with their four-legged grandchild “Rocky” whenever their other grandchildren couldn’t accompany them. Often after church on Sunday Juan would take his family to Galveston to enjoy the beach and some fishing and crabbing. They rarely came home with lots of fish, but they had fun catching crabs and playing with them. There were many fond memories his family will cherish.Juan is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lydia Ruiz Longoria, and his children, Juan R. Longoria (Rose Linda), Yvonne Dolloff (Michel), Alonzo R. Longoria and Denise O’Hehir. Besides his wife and four children Juan was the loving grandfather to Jason Dolloff, Christina Elliott (Travis), Garrett Dolloff (Sara), Victoria Longoria and John Longoria. Additionally, he was great-grandfather to Mason Elliott, Enzo Elliott, Kyah Dolloff, and Maverick Dolloff. He is also survived by his sister, Frances McCannon of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.Juan’s family would like to thank the caring members of Faith Center Church of Pearland for their love, ministry and sharing the word of God.Funeral Services for Juan will be held on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland. (5530 W. Broadway St, Pearland, Texas 77581) Juan’s family will receive guests from 10 to 11 am, with the Funeral Service commencing at 11 am.
