Mama Julie, as I like to call her, was a second mother to me. We had a running joke when I was little that I was left on her doorstep in a basket because I was always at her house. Many weekends were spent with her and her girls, whom I grew up with. My favorite memories were riding in her car and being the radio; "radio on, radio off," and packing a bag, just to walk across the street and stay the night at her house. From her, I learned so many things, like how to keep my hair rollers in place over night, to how to navigate the city using Metro, to perseverance and never giving up on the dream of education. I have so much love for her and will never forget her, the life lessons she taught, the fun we always had, and the endless love she showed. Many condolences to the family and I love you all.
