Justin Abram Matthews' Obituary
Justin Abram Matthews passed away on Tuesday, July 21st, 2026, at the age of 29. He is survived by his mother, Connie Pierre-Auguste; mother, Danielle Morgan; father, Dwon Matthews; wife, Maria Matthews; daughter, Merry Matthews; brothers, Marquel Matthews and wife Chauntal, and Dylan Matthews; sister, Korryn Matthews; nephews, Masar and Cayden; and a host of many other family and friends.
Justin was a man who lived with rare authenticity, honesty, and intention. Genuine in every version of himself, he moved through life without pretense; saying what he thought, doing what he said, and earning the trust and respect of those around him. He was disciplined, focused, and relentless; when Justin set his mind on something, he locked in completely. After being denied from RPI, he spent a year and a half grinding until he earned his way there, a reflection of the persistence that defined him. Even after hitting rock bottom, he climbed back on his own terms, going from homelessness to building a business of his own. Justin’s mind was inventive and alive with possibility. He saw things differently, dreamed boldly, and carried an “Iron Man” spirit. He had an out of the box mind, was ahead of his time, and driven by a vision that was entirely his own.
He was selfless in quiet, unforgettable ways, serving the people he loved without needing recognition and putting others’ comfort ahead of his own without hesitation. Justin also carried his own brand of humor; goofy, charismatic, and unmistakably himself, with a presence that filled the room and left stories people will keep telling because they sound authentically like him. Above all, Justin was devoted to Maria and Merry. He reached every day to be better for them, guided by love, purpose, and the deep responsibility he felt as a husband and father. His life was marked by resilience, courage, grit, creativity, and unmistakable truth. Justin was real, relentless, and loved deeply. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service to celebrate Justin’s life will be held at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am.
