Kate Nalley's Obituary
Born in Effingham, IL, Feb. 11, 1937.
Died in Houston, TX, Aug. 22, 2005, of pancreatic cancer. Kate lived in Franklin for 38 years. Survived by her lifelong love, best friend and husband of 44 years, Patrick Nalley, 3 sons; Patrick Timothy of Worthington, OH, John Kevin, his wife Elizabeth Dawn, grand children Lauren Elizabeth and Vincent Kevin of Houston, TX, and Thomas Christopher of Worthington, OH. Siblings; Jeanne, Tom and Al.
Kate was a graduate of; St. Anthony HS in Effingham, IL, Quincy College – BS in Education, Wright State Univ. – Masters with Honors in Curriculum and Supervision and numerous hours in other courses.
Working years were spent in Mattoon, IL, and Franklin, OH, teaching 1st through 7th grades for 35 years. She loved teaching and learning and felt very fortunate to influence so many good young people.
In July of 2000 she and Pat began a life long dream of continuously traveling throughout the US in their motor home and meeting many interesting people.
She is missed terribly by Pat, Tim, Chris, Kevin, Elizabeth, Lauren and Vince. We love her positive attitude, generosity, open mindedness and unconditional love. She was a great wife and awesome Mom!
A celebration of her life will be held in Franklin at a later date.
