Larry Allen Gehring's Obituary
Larry Allen Gehring, a long-time resident of Pearland, Texas, passed away in Seguin, Texas, on Friday, December 5th, 2025, at the age of 80. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Gehring Sr and Jennie (Kaufhold) Gehring. Larry is survived by his wife, Alice Halik Gehring; son, Joe A. Gehring and wife Nancy; daughter, Tracy Roder and husband Cap; brother, John H. Gehring Jr; grandchildren, Hannah Roder, Quaid Roder, Jacob Gehring, Jennie Roder, Elizabeth Gehring, and Madison Gehring; along with a host of many other family members and friends.
Larry was a devoted husband, loving dad, true friend, and a proud Texan. Family was extremely important to Larry, and he centered his life around them. He was a wonderful father, but an even better grandfather. Larry enjoyed riding and caring for horses and was a true Horseman. He was also quite the agriculturist known as the “Tomato Whisperer” and had a great mind for construction. Larry’s strong-willed spirit and loving warmth will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services for Larry will be held at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025. Larry’s family will receive guests during a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am, with the service commencing at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Alvin Confederate Cemetery.
