LaVerne Rice Owen's Obituary
Laverne Owen 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in Pearland, Texas. She was proceeded in death by Billy Owen her husband of 48 years. She is survived by her daughter Mary Beth Allen and husband Jimmy, grandsons Denton and Don Allen, and son Billy Owen.
Laverne grew up in Oak Cliff outside of Dallas. She married Billy Owen in November 1945. She worked at Bank of the Southwest in downtown Houston until her first child was born in 1960.
She was a homemaker. Laverne and Billy moved to Pearland in 1968. She loved to work in the garden, bake cookies and sew. Laverne attended Bible Study, volunteered on the Teller Committee and was in the church choir. She loved to go on bus trips with the seniors. The bus trips would go all over the United States. She loved playing dominos on Thursday at the church. Laverne will be missed by family and friends.
