"There is nothing a man can wear more proudly than his family's love and respect."
Dad, whoever said no body is perfect must have never met you. They must have never seen how unselfishly you gave of yourself day after day, to our family. They must have never heard how you can calm fears, boost egos, and brighten days with a few special words. They must have never had your support, guidance and love. It may be true, Dad, that nobody's perfect, but you're as close as anyone gets.
I love you, Burt
(this was from a Father's Day card I gave him in 1996)
Dear Dorothy and Burt, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a great man. I will always remember how patient he was with all of us mean boys in his Sunday School class. I feel like I have lost one of my last connections with my Dad since they were boyhood friends and worked together during the depresssion. I loved your Dad and I know that you will miss him. Hopefully you can be thankful that he didn't lose his quality of life like Dianne's Dad had for the past few years. God bless you and all of Mr. Guy's friends and relatives.

Please accept our prayers and condolences upon your father's passing. Mr. Guy was a treasured friend and neighbor. He will be greatly missed.
A precious gift from God. He served as our "pop" and set a beautiful example of how to live a loving, faithful, peaceful life. I will always remember the wonderful vacations together and the twinkle in his eye when he told me "I'm going home soon." He is "home" now with Evelyn, in God's loving presence. My heart goes out to Burt, Dorothy and the family. Love you all.
