Loreto Degala, 95, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Nieves Bautista; her loving husband of 60 years, Arturo Degala; daughters, Mary Lou Degala, Cecilia Degala Arandia; brother, Antonio Bautista; sister, Leodegaria Bautista. Loreto is survived by sons, Arturo Degala Jr., Agustin Degala; daughter, Teresita Degala; thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Loreto was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that took excellent care of her grandchildren. She was a nurse for more than 40 years and during that time worked in hospitals, as a school nurse and as an industrial nurse. It was while working as a nurse that she met Arturo. Loreto was always known for being happy and loving to dance. She always considered coming to the United States as a dream come true and emphasized the need for education to all of her children. Loreto took excellent care of her husband and always made sure to have his uniforms pressed and ready for him. Her strong work ethic was only surpassed by her strong faith. She was devoted to her church and made sure to instill that in her children as well. Loreto was truly the matriarch of the family and cherished every opportunity she had to spend with her family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
