Daughter of the late Jack Palazzo and Allah Lee Loomis, she was born in Houston, TX, attended the University of Houston, and lived her adult life in Pearland, TX, where she established a successful bookkeeping business. Lucy was a community leader, being a Former President of the Pearland Rotary Club, and a lifelong woman of faith. She loved beautiful things, which was evident in her artistic endeavors. Although many recognized her later in life for her business acumen, her talents as an artist and musician were profound. She is survived by her beloved husband, John Herman Gehring Jr.; her children Jane Gehring Bretz (Theron Foster Bretz), Carl Martin Gehring (Teresa Fisher Gehring), Jean Gehring Cason (Clinton Eldon Cason); her grandchildren, Clark Gareth Bretz, John Anthony Gehring, Logan Daniel Cason, Michael Alexander Gehring, Henry Colin Cason, Alexandria Danielle Gehring; and a community that admired her spirit. Her life was a life of faith, art, and the beauty that she so admired.
