Meraz, 83, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on April 12, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Meraz; son, Dominic Meraz; sister, Frances G. Soria; brother-in-law Joe Soria, mother, Lucia Trevino; and father, Antonio D. Gonzales. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Meraz and Daniel Meraz; Daughter, Deborah M. Valenza and her husband John; Daugher-in-Law Tonya R. Meraz; Grandsons, Taylor Meraz and David Womack; Granddaughters, Laura J. Bagwell, her husband Patrick; Rachel M. Garcia, her husband Gerardo; Great Granddaughters, Paige E. Bagwell; Alexandra M. Noel; and Parker E. Bagwell; brothers, Ben Gonzales and his wife Mary, John Gonzales and his wife Tina, Victor Gonzales and his wife Bertha and a host of other family and friends.Margaret retired from Prudential Insurance Company in 1991 after twenty-five years and was a long time member of the Jeff Davis Alumni Association where she graduated from High School. She was a devoted and loving mom, grandmother, Gigi, sister, and aunt. She adored her family, her cat Shu-Shu, and loved her prayer group women who were such a wonderful support for her over the years. She had a great sense of humor and always saw the good in everyone she met. Margaret was strong in her faith and a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church for over forty years. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.A visitation for Margaret will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, on Wednesday, April 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. The funeral service will be Thursday, April 19th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd, Pearland, TX 77581 with Father Wayne Wilkerson officiating. Interment at South Park Cemetery to follow.
