View Tribute Book Maria Jankowski, 77, of Pearland, TX, passed away on November 7, 2018. Maria is survived by her husband Dan of 52 years, his brother Bron and wife Rosie. Daughters Teresa Ellefson & Elizabeth (Rande) Poole. Grandchildren, Anthony, Brittany & Alexis. Great grandchildren, Blayze and Evelyn. Nephew’s Rick, Steve, David & Mark, Niece’s Tish & Jennifer and a host of other family and dear friends. Maria Szuma was born in Jaslo, Poland and came to the USA in 1964. She married Dan on October 7, 1967 in Minneapolis, MN and they retired in Pearland, TX in 2002. Maria faced many challenges which made her strong and she fought bravely through her entire life. She never gave up on life by surviving breast cancer and working hard for the things we needed. Known to never hold back her opinion and had a knack for telling it like it is, even if you didn’t want to hear it. She was her family’s rock and very protective over the ones she held dear in her heart. The love that she and Dan shared was beautiful and real and were blessed to have witnessed it. Maria wasn’t afraid to shout out a 4 letter word and make up a few which her grandchildren will most likely use fluently one day. Maria found joy in gardening and cooking traditional Polish food. All the family agrees, her golabki’s and pierogi will always be the best. She left a beautiful mark on this world and we are better people because of her wisdom, encouragement and support. She will be remembered and missed the rest of all of our lives. A Memorial Service for Maria will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.
