Marie Annette Scranton's Obituary
Marie Annette Scranton, born January 8, 1937, in Dallas, Texas, to William James Reznek and Marie Anna Kadlecek Rezek, passed away in Houston, Texas, on March 19, 2026. She is survived by her son, Michael Scranton and wife Beth; grandchildren, Katelyn, Ryan, and Mark Scranton; daughter-in-law, Victoria Scranton; nephew, Charles McRae and wife Lisa; niece, Sydney Vincent and husband Kip; nephew Bobby Allbritton and wife Traci; and a host of many other family and friends.
After graduating from John H Reagan High School, Annette began working for Anderson Clayton and Company as an executive secretary. She and Donald Wayne Scranton married in 1960 and moved to Pearland in 1964. There she raised two sons and was very involved in the community as Pearland grew. Annette was a faithful member of St. Helen Catholic Church and of the Catholic Daughters. She was also an avid Bingo player and enjoyed traveling to many different casinos with friends.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; son, Patrick Brian Scranton; sisters, Margaret Ann Allbritton and Billie Jean McRae.
The family would like to thank The Harbor Assisted Living and her caregivers, Erlita and Dessy for their loving care of Annette, and all her dear friends who have supported her.
Funeral services for Marie will be held on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026, at St. Helen Catholic Church. Her family will receive guests from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, and Mass will commence at 12:00 pm, with Reverend Father Wayne Wilkerson presiding. Interment will follow the Mass at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
