Mark was a great person. I was also a fellow cadet candidate (Jim’s roommate) with Mark at the Prep School, then fellow ‘98er at the Zoo. He was always an easy going guy and I always remember him being the nicest guy around. His passing is a true loss for this World. God speed Mark, you were truly an officer and a gentleman. “Here’s a toast . . .”
My heart is grieving right now because one of my friends is gone. Alan was my first roommate during Basic Cadet Training at the Air Force Academy in 1994. He taught me so much about the military and was very patient with me. One of my favorite memories of him came during the beginning of our Sophomore year. All of his fellow classmates in CS-19 had been calling him “Mark” because that was his first name, he decided to tell us A YEAR LATER, that he went by his middle name, Alan. He will be missed by many. I personally, am a better person for having known him.

I shared the room next to mark while at the prep school before entering the Air Force Academy. My memories of him were quiet but hilariously funny. He was always great to be around and hang out with and could break up a stressful situation with a mirror look or well-placed joke. While we lost touch over the years my memories of Mark are incredibly as vivid as they were of yesterday. I'm incredibly sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time. Thank you all for your service and your sacrifice.

I worked with Allan in the Pentagon. He was not only one of the finest Air Force Officers I have ever met but one of the finest human beings. His belief in God, his love for his country and family, his pleasant demeanor, and his courage in the face of adversity made me richer for knowing him. I will miss him deeply.

Allen was an amazing officer, person and friend. It wasn't always an easy two years on the program at LA, but Allen made it fun to be at work. We'll miss him.
Allan and I worked for two years on a program at LA. It wasn't always the easiest job to be at, but he always made the day seem brighter and more fun. I'll always remember him as one of the most fun loving, kindest people I've known. Mary Ann and family, please know our thoughts are with you.
