He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Monie Terry; loving wife, Rebecca Terry; son-in-law Aubrey Edwards; great grandson Paul Diaz; and four brothers. Left to cherish his memory are his sons Bryan Brown, Jeff Hamm; daughters Vickie Lothamer (Mike), Wendy Edwards, Kelly Zumwalt (Fred), Sam Tilley (Rick), Edie Price (Don); four brothers; sisters Glenna Dyer, Janice Smith; grandchildren Jamie Carter, BJ, Randy, Jamie Herman, Kailee, Danny, Jeremy, Brooke, Karlie, Corie, Whitney, Ashley, Lacie, Jay, Bubba, Tyler, Jared, Zach, Dustin, Cameron; 29 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, and a host of many other family and friends.Marley was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He was happily married to his wife, for 50 years, and was her primary caregiver until she passed in 2021 of Alzheimer’s. He cherished his children and grandchildren and was always checking on them. Marley’s family affectionately gave him several nicknames over the years including, Dad, Papa, Papa Marley, Grandpaw, Great Grand Papa, Chief Sitting Bull, and Chief. He also adored his dog, Bandit.Marley was a hard worker and wonderful provider for his family. He had a successful career as a bus mechanic with Goose Creek ISD and is where he retired from. In his spare time, Marley loved working on cars in his garage with family and friends. He was an avid Astros and Nascar fan, and he loved listening to Bluegrass music. Marley enjoyed playing card games; his favorite was “Screw Your Neighbor” and his family says he was notorious for cheating. Marley will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Services for Marley will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Clayton Funeral Home, 201 S. 3rd Street, La Porte, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 – 11:00 am. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, with Pastor Mark Redd officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena, Texas.
