Mary Ettie Cockroft's Obituary
Mary Ettie Cockroft, 94, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents Baker and Stella Tatum; son Gary Zaboroski; four brothers; one sister; and one great grandchild. Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her loving husband, Earnie Cockroft; son Kenneth Cockroft and wife, Gladys; daughter-in-law Jaci Zaboroski; daughter Carolyn Kuykendall; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren, and a host of many other family and friends.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother who cherished her family. She was married to the love of her life, Earnie, for 56 wonderful years. Mary loved to travel all over the country and world. She and Earnie enjoyed square dancing and traveling around to different places to dance. Mary even began taking tap dancing lessons in her 60’s to stay active and in shape. She enjoyed good health for most of her life. Mary loved being outdoors. She especially loved spending time gardening and fishing. Mary also loved to cook, and she enjoyed watching cooking shows on television. Most of all, Mary enjoyed time spent with her family, she especially enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays and for special events. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services for Mary will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Houston, Texas.
