Mary Lou Fair's Obituary
Mary Lou Fair died unexpectedly September 9, 2009 in Pearland, Texas. She is preceded in death her parents, Willie D. & Eula Mae (Alsop) Elliott; brothers, James D. Elliott, Richard L. Elliott, L. Vandyke Elliot & Samuel Elliott; and husband, Major Kenneth Fair. She is survived by her daughter, Candy Ludwick & her husband Stan; son, Daniel V. Cochran & friend Curt Chezem; brothers, Willie D. Elliott & his wife Carolyn of New Orleans and Bobbie J. Elliott & his wife Pam of Lakehill, Texas; sister, Shirley Elliott Rogers & her husband Jack of Carmel, Indiana; grandchildren, Lauren & Jeff Ludwick; and a host of many other family & friends.
Mary was born on October 14, 1922 in Detroit, Texas. She grew up in Texas in the Panhandle and spent some time working overseas before marrying in 1946 and moving to Dalton, Georgia where she raised her children. After the death of her husband, Major Kenneth Fair, she made her home in Pearland, Texas to be near her family. She immediately joined the First United Methodist Church in Pearland and became involved as a nursery worker. Mary was also a nanny to many families here in Pearland. She touched many lives, especially children.
Visitation for Mary will be on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Pearland, 2314 N. Grand Blvd., Pearland, Texas 77581, 281-485-1466. Interment is at Acton Cemetery in Granbury, Texas where a Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Pearland Nursery Fund.
