Mary Hellen Martinez, 83, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021. She is preceded in death by her father Manuel Garza; mother Antonia Cavasas; loving husband, of 54 years, Rufus Martinez; son Freddy Martinez; two brothers; and three sisters. Left to cherish Mary Hellen’s memory are her sons Lorenzo Martinez, Richard Martinez; daughters Rosie Flores and husband, Robert, Sabina Morris and husband, Jerry, Terry LaCombe and husband, James, Pauline Martinez, Hellen Perales and husband, Andres, Ruthy Partain and husband, John; half sisters Mary Garcia and Sara Mathews; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren, and a host of many other dear family and friends.
Mary Hellen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family. Her delicious home cooked meals were always available no matter the time of day. She loved to cook for her family. Mary Hellen enjoyed playing board games with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed time spent shopping and going to the casinos. Mary Hellen loved professional sports and was an avid Houston Texans and Astros fan. When her husband was alive, they loved to dance and listen to music together. Mary Hellen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
