Mary Isabel Matusek's Obituary
Mary Isabel Matusek, 90, passed away Friday, March 3,2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Kramr; her loving husband, Leo Matusek; and brothers, Bennie, William and Willie Kramr. Isabel is survived by her sons, Tommy Matusek and wife, Penne, Steve Matusek; daughter, Mary Selman and husband, Mike; brothers, John Kramr and wife, Ann, Joe Kramr and wife, Joyce; sisters, Ruth Dishburger and husband, Walter, Anita McCormick and husband, Glenn; grandchildren, John Taylor and wife, Tina , William Selman and wife, Trish, Scott Matusek and wife, Ashley, Ashley Bauerkemper and husband Jason , great grandchildren, Brianna, Elizabeth, Trinity, Seth, Garrett, Keely and Bristol; and a host of other family and friends.
Isabel was born September 22, 1926 in East Bernard, Texas. She graduated Valedictorian of her class from East Bernard High School in 1944. After graduation, Isabel attended St. Joseph’s Nursing School and became a registered nurse. She worked for several years at St. Joseph’s Hospital as an operating room nurse. Isabel met and married Leo Matusek and spent 54 wonderful years together. She was a devoted a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that cherished every opportunity she had to spend time with her family. Isabel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her devoted caregivers, Bernie, Remie, and Shonda. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Isabel’s honor to St. Helen Catholic Church or to Heart-to-Heart Hospice.
A visitation and rosary will be held for Isabel Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Clayton Funeral Home; 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland Texas 77581. The visitation will take place from 5:00 until 8:00 pm with the rosary recited at 6:00 pm. The funeral mass will take place Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Father James Courville officiating. Interment will follow at SouthPark Resurrection Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
