Melvin Ray Walker Sr.'s Obituary
Melvin Ray Walker Sr. went home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2020. Melvin is preceded in death by his father, Horace Waters, mother, Iline Clark; brothers, Vincent Walker, Clifton Walker, and Horace Walker. Left to cherish his memory is, his loving wife of 30 years, Manuelita Ann Walker; sons, Tony Arredondo-Walker, Melvin Walker Jr., and Syr Walker; daughters, Soleio Watters, Preia Walker, Laneysa Walker, Khaliess Walker; brothers, Darrell Walker,, Calvin Waters, ,sisters, Beverly Walker and Marilyn Walker; granddaughter Allison Walker his “Ally Cat “and a host of many other family and friends.
Melvin was a devoted son, brother, husband and father that loved his family dearly. He had a servant’s heart and believed strongly in helping others in need. Melvin was an excellent provider for his family, and he was always available to share his loving and caring advice. He had the unique ability to never hold a grudge and to find peace in every situation. Melvin loved sports. If he wasn’t watching basketball, or football on the television, he was listening to sports radio talk shows. He fancied himself a chef and his favorite foods were Hartz chicken, oxtails, sautéed shrimp, tomatoes and beans. Melivn enjoyed watching the Steve Harvey Morning Show, listening to music and being the “straw boss”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family requests that those attending services for Melvin wear a mask.
Services for Melvin will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Clayton Funeral Home. 201 South 3rd Street, La Porte, Texas 77571. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dr. victor Flores officiating. Interment will follow at La Porte Cemetery in La Porte, Texas.
