Uncle Latunde, my Dear Baba Oko!
It’s hard to say a final farewell!
I know you’re in a better place - that’s the only consolation!
You always had a kind word for me every time we met at events. My Sister always says Comrade is her wonderful in-law because you cared to reach out to her regularly. I will certainly miss you! You were a proud Agbe-Davies - always conscious of upholding and protecting the family traditions! It’s an affirmation of the words of wisdom - “Remember whose son you are”!
I pray that our Sovereign God comforts my namesake and the children as only He can!
Suñre o, Uncle!
- Dr. Adetoun Agbe-Davies
Comrade ‘Latunde was my dear Ègbòn, whom I saw last in February 2023 when we went to the bank with our cousin, cousin Sumade, to open the family account. He was the only one who was able to drive to the bank whilst cousin Sumade and I were brought by our drivers. He looked so healthy. so I was surprised when I heard he was taken to the US for medical treatment and subsequently passed on on the 10th of July 2023.
Comrade ‘Latunde was very caring. Growing up, I remember when he used to visit us at Oshodi, usually on Sunday after church service. He used to give me and Bode, my younger brother, money to buy Mirinda. It's so fond, remembering now how we always looked forward to seeing him on those Sundays.
He was strict and highly principled. I have never seen Comrade 'Latunde out of character, even when we disagreed a few times on family issues we always resolve them amicably.
Comrade ‘Latunde was the first vice president of the Agbe-Davies union. The family has lost a strong committed member and he will be highly missed.
My condolences to his dear wife, Mama Kayode, the children, grandchildren and the entire Agbe-Davies family. May God grant him eternal rest. Amen.
Kola Agbe-Davies.
May our Resurrected Lord grant Papa Kay eternal rest, for he was a person filled with abundant love and faith. A gentleman whose friendship with my father lasted more than forty years stands as testament to his loyalty and trustworthiness. His virtues and strength of character will be revered in my family for generations to come. His passing is truly mournful but let's find solace in the fact that our Heavenly Father has welcomed a deserving soul into His embrace.
May his gentle and cheerful soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
Adieu, Pa Micheal Agbe-Davies. May your kind and gentle soul rest in perfect peace. May God comfort and console your wife, children and the entire family you left behind. ACF and the entire All Saints Anglican Church Yaba Lagos missed your gentle and amiable disposition to all.
