View Tribute Book Michael Marvin Chudej, 64, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Vernon and Vivian Chudej; former wife, Mary Chudej; son, Luke Chudej; daughter, Holly Chudej; sister, Susan Chudej; Michael’s special friend, Mary Ann Padilla; and a host of other family and dear friends. Michael was a graduate of Jesse H. Jones High School in Houston, Class of 1973 before attending Texas A&M University where he completed his degree in Computer Science in 1978. Upon graduating, he returned to Houston and was employed with Camco until the oil industry took a downturn. Michael relocated to Mount Pleasant, Michigan in 1987. He loved the cold weather and took great pride in showing off his town to anyone visiting from Texas. Michael loved to play tennis and had a passion for square dancing. He was truly a perfectionist and took great pride in working with his hands. Michael had a servant’s heart and believed strongly in helping others in need. He fought valiantly after his diagnosis with esophageal cancer and returned to Houston to be closer to his parents as he went through treatment. Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s honor to the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen, 621 South Adams Street, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan 48858. Michael often ate at the soup kitchen and was all about feeding people and donating food to those in need. Services for Michael will be held Friday, January 18, 2019 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 5515 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will take place from 10:00 until 10:30 am with the funeral service following beginning at 10:30 am with Pastor Jon Salminen officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at the Vsetin Czech-Moravian Brethren Church Cemetery in Hallettsville, Texas on FM 2314, 6 miles northeast of town.
