Mikayla Renae Quindoy's Obituary
Mikayla Renae Quindoy, 7, passed away surrounded by her loving family Thursday, December 10, 2015. She is survived by her adoring parents, Rodney and Melissa Quindoy; grandmother, Nancy Quindoy; grandparents, Zenaida and Bueno Cabagui; brother, Rayden Quindoy; and a host of other family and friends.
Mikayla was truly a “girlie, girl” that loved school, reading, science and anything pink! She was the epitome of a fashionista. Mikayla loved her family very much and had a special and unique bond with her brother, Rayden. She loved going to the movies and delighted in all the Disney princess movies. Mikayla excelled in Kumon reading at the age of 4 and was very smart. She loved arts, crafts and participating in the rodeo art shows at school. Mikayla had a beautiful spirit and was definitely an “old soul.” Even at a young age, she was able to travel all over the world. Her short life was full of learning, laughing and adventure. Diagnosed at the age of 6, Mikayla inspired her family, friends and classmates with her courageous battle with cancer. She was honored on April 10th with Team Mikayla Day at Laura Ingalls Wilder Elementary School. Mikayla will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A visitation and rosary for Mikayla will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, with the Rosary recited at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral mass will take place Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 6502 County Road 48, Manvel, Texas 77578 with Father Thomas V. Pozini officiating. Interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
