Mildred Moore Niland's Obituary
Mildred Moore Niland (94) was born on July 5, 1931, in Houston, TX. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Carrie Moore; husband, T.K. Niland; son, Kirwin Niland; son, Kelly Niland; and brother, Johnny Moore Jr.
Mildred is survived by her son, Casey Niland and his wife, Sondra; her daughter, KT Niland; and daughter-in-law, Katy Niland Murphy and her husband, Kevin; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Mildred graduated from Austin High School in 1949. She met her husband (T.K.) in elementary school on a bookmobile. The story goes when T.K. saw Mildred, he turned to his friend and said, “I’m going to marry that girl one day.” Well, the rest is history. Mildred and T.K. married on March 14, 1953, and had 60 wonderful years together. In 1966, they built a house in Pearland, Texas and raised four children. Mildred loved her family. She was fiercely protective of her children and always cared for others selflessly. She was a giving, strong willed, independent and sometimes stubborn woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, 11 am, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023.
Special thanks to Sterling Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care in Friendswood, Texas. Their team took phenomenal care of Mildred the last year of her life. They loved her and kept her active and engaged until the end.
