Monica Mary Garner, 74, of La Porte passed away Sunday September 12, 2010. She was born September 26, 1935 in Boston, Massachusetts to Christine Callahan and Jacob Wichert. Monica was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for numerous years. She also volunteered for the La Porte Neighborhood Center and St. Mary’s Samaritan Ministry. Monica’s favorite hobby above all was to travel. She is preceded in death by her husband Van Garner. She is survived by her children Sean Garner and wife Sheila, Lyn Garner, Vanessa Garner, grandsons Casey Garner, Cody Garner, and Chance Garner, and numerous friends.
A rosary will be held Tuesday September 14, 2010 at 7PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in La Porte. Services will be held Wednesday September 15, 2010 at 10AM at the church as well.
