He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Adaleen West. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kathleen West; sons Mark L. West and wife, Susan; Andrew W. West and wife, Karena; daughter Monica Branch and husband, Gary; sister Sally Garner and husband, Leon; grandchildren Haley Branch, Christopher “Chase” Branch (Manon), Jack West, Amy West, Robin Graham (Dakota), Hunter West (Karissa), Nate West; great grandchildren Noah Graham, Kyle West, Gracyn Graham, and a host of many other family and friends. Nolen spent four years in the Army during the Korean Conflict working with guided missiles. He graduated from Sam Houston State College. Nolen had a great sense of humor and knew how to make people laugh. He cherished his family dearly. Nolen was married to the love of his life, Kathleen, for 62 wonderful years. He loved babies and children. Especially his own grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were his pride and Joy. He loved to tell stories about his younger years when he spent time with his cousins and uncles in Liverpool Texas getting into mischief. Nolen loved to spend time in Colorado. He and Kathleen enjoyed traveling whenever they could. One of his most memorable trips was to Alaska with Kathleen, Jack, and Chase pulling a travel trailer. Nolen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Services for Nolen will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 6, at 10:00 am, with Pastor David Goran officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery, in Pearland, Texas.
