View Tribute Book Opal Jones Green, 80, of La Porte passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 20, 1938 in Galveston, Texas to Emmett N Jones, Sr., and Catherine E Bathgate Jones. Opal was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nicholas Green, Jr.; son, Chris Green and brothers, Ollie Jones and Emmett Jones, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Michael Green and wife, Alma; John Green and wife, Kellye and Patrick Green and wife, Christina; grandchildren, Brittany, Robert, Chelsea, Austin, Breanna, Jeffrey and Joshua; sister, Judy Marshall and husband, Karl; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.Opal was born and raised in Galveston but then made Morgan’s Point her home where she married Nick and raised her four sons. She loved her family and especially enjoyed taking pictures of them every chance she got. Her hobbies also included working crossword puzzles and reading celebrity magazines. Opal was a kind and gentle woman and she will be greatly missed.A graveside service to honor the life of Opal will be on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 9:30 am at Grand View Memorial Park, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505.
