To the Osayande family,
When my dad told me about the loss of your son and brother, Patrick, my heart broke for you all. He reminded me that as children, we’d in fact met at your home—I’m sure that we enjoyed ourselves, especially being close in age.
To Patrick’s parents: Thinking about that snapshot of time, one of many good memories my parents created for me and my siblings, I have a feeling that you both did the same for your son and will continue to do so for your other children. In addition to building a life here for us, your celebration of our achievements, your guidance, and your support in our low moments have not been in vain. From what I’ve read about Patrick, he grew up to be a kind, intelligent, and much liked individual which is definitely a reflection of his upbringing. I have no doubt that he was grateful for you.
To Patrick’s sisters: I can only imagine what you are feeling and deeply hope that someday, you’ll know a type of peace that will allow you to smile again. Please lean on available resources for strength.
Sincerely,
Eghe Ehiman
