Patrick Thomas "Pat" Cummings' Obituary
Patrick “Pat” Thomas Cummings, 63, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017. He is preceded in death by his father Jerome Cummings; step-father, Edward Weiman; and sisters, Christina and Marie Cummings. Pat is survived by his mother, Jane Weiman; brothers, Jim Cummings and wife, Janet, David Weiman and wife, Sarah; sisters, Kathy Shatto and husband, Alf, Mary Bourgeois and husband, Gary, Yvonne Kelley and husband, Greg; and a host of other family and friends.
Pat graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School before attending the College of the Main Land and Lee College to become certified in Pipe Fitting I, II, III & Blue Print Reading. His career consisted of Pipe Fabricator and Pipe Fitter for various chemical plants in the Pasadena area from General Petro Chem and Kellogg Brown and Root. Pat enjoyed surfing, snow skiing, and playing baseball. He always loved the great outdoors consisting of hunting deer, ducks and dove or salt and fresh water fishing. Pat’s goldfish aquarium gave him such peace and tranquility during his illness. He enjoyed watching football and reading the entire daily newspaper.
Pat was most proud of his family and family heritage. He loved hearing stories from the other family members. Recently, Pat moved in with his parents to help with their care. He accepted this responsibility and was proud he could help watch over them. Pat will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Pat’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Heart to Heart Hospice for their support and loving care. They ask that in lieu of flowers anyone wishing to express their condolences may donate to Heart to Heart Hospice in his memory.
A Memorial Service for Pat will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at Fairmont Park Church, 10401 Belfast Rd., La Porte, TX 77571.
