Ralph Carmona Handy's Obituary
Ralph Carmona Handy passed away Saturday, December 31, 2005 in a Houston hospital at the age of 79 years. Known by many as “Handy”, Handy was born January 31, 1926 in Victoria, Texas to Ralph and Carolina Carmona Handy. He was a longtime resident of Brookside Village and was a parishioner of St. Helen Catholic Church.
Handy is preceded in death by his first wife, Ramona Flores Handy, and is survived by a loving family; his wife, Maria Pilar “Mappy” Handy; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Martha Handy, of Pearland; daughter and son-in-law, Mary E. and Dr. Jesse Coats, of Pearland; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Monday, January 2, 2006, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland, where a vigil will be held at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Road, Pearland with Rev. Edmund P. Eduarte, Parochial Vicar, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
