Ramonita Cruz, 72, passed away Thursday August 19, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents; Julio Velez and Ana Mercedes Velazquez, siblings; Julio Cesar, Julia, Olga, Hiram, Julio Victor and Angel Rene, and granddaughter; Jocelyn, left to cherish her memory are, her husband; Jose E. Cruz Sr., her son; Jose E. Cruz and wife Jonda, daughter; Annette Cruz Velez, siblings; Luis, Raquel, Maria Magdalena, Monserate, Eduardo, and Neftali, and, granddaughter; Jade.
Ramonita was born October 2, 1948, in Yauco, Puerto Rico, to Julio Velez and Ana Mercedes Velasquez. She was a resident of LaPorte for thirty - seven years.
Ramonita was known as a loving person, she loved her family dearly. Even through her health difficulties with a stroke, she continued to love and care for her family. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. Ramonita was a woman of faith and loved the Lord and his church. She had a special love for worship music, and enjoyed the times of worship at her church, Templo Bautista. Some of Ramonita’s favorite times were spent traveling through Europe, with her husband and love of her life, Jose. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
