I miss you so much.
My heart is broken and I wish you were here. Jesus needed you in Heaven, so he called you home. Maybe he has you using your carpenter skills there. I can imagine you making something wonderful for him.
I cry each day and am trying to be strong for mom. I know you would want me to do that.

TO DAD, MY DEAR SWEET HUSBAND: WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW SAD I AM, WITH ALL YOU HAD TO ENDURE THE LAST SIX MONTHS IN AND OUT OF THE HOSPITAL, I COULD NOT GET YOU WELL AND BACK HOME AGAIN. YOU ALWAYS ASKED ME IN THE HOSPITAL TO PUT YOUR BLUE JEANS AND SHOES ON SO YOU COULD GO HOME. I ALWAYS HAD TO SAY, "NO, NOT RIGHT NOW". THAT WAS TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTING TO YOU AND HEARTBREAKING FOR ME TO SAY. AND HOW YOU REALLY DIDN'T LIKE THOSE HOSPITAL GOWNS!
AT THE TIME WHEN WE KISSED GOODBYE IN THE HOSPITAL LAST SUNDAY NIGHT, I DIDN'T THINK IT WOULD BE FOR THE LAST TIME. WE HAD A WONDERFUL AND HAPPY 61 YEARS TOGETHER AND I MEAN "TOGETHER" BECAUSE, AS YOU KNOW, AND EVERYONE ELSE KNEW, WE DID EVERYTHING "TOGETHER".
YOU GAVE ME TWO BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN, RESULTING IN BEAUTIFUL GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
AS I SAY MY FINAL GOODBYE TO YOU, I KNOW WE WILL MEET AGAIN SOME DAY IN HEAVEN. MY HEART IS TRULY BROKEN. LOVE YOU SO MUCH, MOM, OR, AS MANY TIMES, YOU LOVINGLY CALLED ME "TJ".

To my sweet, sweet daddy:
Thank you for being the best daddy a girl could ever have. You have been my rock my entire life and my heart is broken that you are no longer here. I guess I thought you were going to live forever. I didn't ever consider how I would feel without you because you have always been here for me. Daddy, I feel a little lost.
To help me come to grips, I take comfort in knowing you are no longer suffering. You are no longer held prisoner from your failing body and your spirit is free to soar. You jokingly told the doctor when he asked you what he could do for you and you replied, "get me a new body". Rest assured daddy, God will give you your new body. Your sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all.
I have so many emotions right now and I can't even fathom how I am going to get through life without you being here. I remind myself you are in Heaven with Jesus and you are still with us, but just watching over us from above.

Prayer For Loss Of My Father
Lord, today is tinged with both sadness and a strange sort of comfort as we say farewell to my dear and precious father, who has been such a support to us all.. over the years.
Thank You for giving me my dad and for all that he has meant to me throughout my life.. As I think back over all the things that he taught me and for the many lessons of life that I have learned from him, it rejoices my heart - and yet Lord I know that I am going to miss him so very much.
Be close to all of the family today Lord – I know that we are all going to feel his passing in different ways and I pray that You will draw close to each of us and provide the comfort and strength that we all need as we finally come to terms.. that we will no longer see him down here.. but thank You that he knew the Lord Jesus as his Saviour and we rejoice to know that he is now in the presence of the Saviour he loves - thank You Jesus,

I enjoyed spending time while our daughters danced exchanging stories with Ray. We talked about airplanes and helicopters, construction and family. He and his family always welcomed us and he and TJ knew our kiddos and us by name from the first night. He is a staple of A Step Above that will be greatly missed. Thinking of you all and sending wishes for fond memories and comfort.
