Rex Virgil Hager Jr.'s Obituary
Rex Virgil Hager Jr., 93, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father Rex Virgil Hager Sr.; and mother Vada Blackman Hager. Left to cherish Rex’s memory are his loving wife Rhonda Jernigan Hager; sons Paul Hager, and Bruce Hager; stepsons Detric Bowie, and Christopher Bowie; and grandson Isaac Bowie.
Rex was an extremely giving and loving person who never liked to see injustice. He had a servant’s heart and loved to help people any way he could. Rex loved his family dearly and was a extraordinary provider who set a wonderful example for others to live by. He loved his country and was very patriotic. Rex proudly served in the United States Army. He served during World War II and Korea. Rex was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Korean Service Medal, Commendation Ribbon with Medal Pendant, Occupation Medal, Victory Medal, and UN Service Medal. In his spare time Rex loved to work in his yard and watch old westerns. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services for Rex will be held on Monday, November 29, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from10:00 – 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment is scheduled on Tuesday, November 30, at 11:15 am, at Houston National Cemetery, in Houston, Texas.
