Reynaldo Garza Farias' Obituary
Reynaldo Farias, 92, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan Farias and Angela Garza Farias; first wife, Maria Delaluz Santos, second wife, Lydia Rios Farias; son Ruben Farias; brothers, Matias Farias and Jose Angel Farias; sisters, Margarita Taguilas, Guadalupe Farias, and Rosa Cruz Farias; and granddaughter, Hillory Jannean Farias. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Reynaldo Farias Jr. and wife, Mary, Richard Farias and wife, Rita, Robert Farias and wife, Adriana, Roy Farias and wife, Linda, Raul Farias and wife, Alba, Ruben Farias and wife, Melissa; daughter, Rosie Farias-Guerra and husband, Paul; brothers, Fernando Farias, Juvencio Farias, Juan Farias, Isauro Farias; sisters, Josefina Ruiz and Luciana Gumm; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends.
Reynaldo was a man of great faith that loved the Lord and His church. At the age of 16 he contracted Tuberculosis and was told he would not survive but fought through and lived a long fruitful life. He served over 25 years in the Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was an excellent provider for his family and his determined work ethic was passed on to his children. He worked for many years and was able to retire from both the grocery store business as well as the La Porte Independent School District. Reynaldo enjoyed sports and loved cheering on the Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys and local sports teams. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed tending to his rose bushes. Reynaldo will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services for Reynaldo will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 201 South 3rd Street, La Porte, Texas 77571. The visitation will take place Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow the services at Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena, Texas.
