Robert Glenn "Bob" Jeske's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Glenn Jeske, age 71, passed away in Friendswood, Texas on April 2, 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister LaVerne Williams; and grandson, Travis Alan Jeske. He is survived by his wife, Janice of 50 years; sons, Douglas Jeske & his wife Deanna, Leslie Jeske & his wife Wendy, and Rusty Jeske & his wife Trisha; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Jeske Jr. and Richard Jeske & his wife Jo Ann; and sister, Bettie Williams.
Robert was born in Priddy, Texas on June 4, 1937 to Edward and Bertha Jeske. He graduated from Priddy High School in 1955 and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1958. He joined the Houston Police Department, Class #22 in 1959 and served for thirty-nine years, retiring from the Robbery Division. Robert officiated football in the Houston area and was a member of the SFOA for thirty years. After retirement, he enjoyed playing golf at Alvin Country Club. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 8:00. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:00 am. Both services will be held at Clayton Funeral Home in Pearland with Rev. Lawrence Juull and Chaplain Monty Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s honor to the Houston Police Retired Officers Association, P.O. Box 2288, Houston, TX 77252-2288.
