I have nothing but sweet memories of Mr. Napoleon! He would always go out of his way to give me a big hug when we saw each other. He would call me over from across the room, often before I had a chance to make my way over to say hi to him first. I know he was a great dad, papa, uncle, husband, and friend to many.
Aunt Lana, I am so sad for you and De. Grieving will be different for the both of you. Some days your heart will be so full you won't know whether to laugh or cry. Some days your heart will feel so empty that you will wonder how you could possibly cry any more tears. There will be waves of this grief, both of you will carry on his legacy and stay strong remembering all of the life and love he left you with.
"Grief is like the ocean; it comes on waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim." ~ Vicki Harrison
Honestly, as I write this, a friend of mine that I office with is playing the ukulele and singing "Daddy's Hands". What a beautiful song and couldn't be more fitting for your sweet dad.
Love you both, Heather
