Rosie Iris Lopez-Gomez's Obituary
Rosie Iris Lopez-Gomez, 50, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016. She is preceded in death by her father, Eloy Lopez and sister, Migdalia Lopez-Gomez. Rosie is survived by her mother, Rosa Iris Gomez; daughter, Rossyvette Sierra-Lopez; brother, Israel Lopez-Gomez and wife, Nancy; sister, Norma Iris Lopez-Gomez and husband, Gerardo; grandchild, Jaslene Cardona; and a host of other family and friends.
Rosie was a proud veteran that served her country in the United States Navy. She had a successful 14 year active career, served 2 years in the reserves and planned on serving for more than 20 years. Rosie was a strong single mom and a great provider for her family. Family was her number one priority and she was affectionately known as “Guela” to her precious granddaughter. Rosie was always the life of the party and very feisty. She was always a take charge type of person and was known to always be able to get things done. Rosie will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A visitation and service for Rosie will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation begins at 6:00 pm with a service starting at 7:00 pm. Rosie will be taken back to Illinois where there will be a visitation and service on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at McMurrough Funeral Home, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, IL 60048. The visitation will take place from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and the service will follow beginning at 7:00 pm. The interment with military honors will take place at 12 noon on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
